Xalgorix vs Strix

Strix and Xalgorix are both open-source (Apache-2.0) AI pentesting agents that validate findings with working proofs of concept, and both offer a hosted version. They differ mainly in how you pay, what you need to run them, and where they fit in a team's workflow.

Choose Xalgorix when

  • You'd rather pay per scan than per seat. Credits never expire and there are no seat fees.
  • You don't want to manage model keys or token bills. Cloud runs on managed frontier models.
  • You test running applications, including production. Payloads are non-destructive, with rate limits and a kill switch.
  • You want security reviews on pull requests without creating an account anywhere.

Choose Strix when

  • You need GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira or Linear integrations today.
  • You need enterprise controls now: SSO, VPC deployment and an SLA.
  • You want automatically generated fix patches in your workflow.
  • A large community matters to you. Strix has one of the biggest in this category.

Questions

Can I try both?
Yes. Both are open source under Apache-2.0. Run each against the same staging app you're authorized to test and compare the evidence each one produces.
Which one finds more vulnerabilities?
We haven't published a head-to-head benchmark, and we won't claim one until we have reproducible results. Outcomes depend heavily on the target, the model and the scope.
Does Xalgorix need my source code?
No. Xalgorix tests the running application from a URL you're authorized to scan.
